The Project
Adamson Construction was proud to be awarded this project, which involved creating the foundations for an LED advertising system at the North and South ends of the Tottenham Hotspur pitch. In addition, we had to lay rubber safety matting over the gravel around the pitch.
The works had to be completed out of season. The angle of the advertising boards was critical and so the bases had to be angled accurately. The ducting for the cables had a restricted window which had to come up between steel parallel supports 150mm apart. The East and West track sidelines had to remain undamaged. We were also working next to the pitch and it was essential nothing went onto it.
We worked 12 hours a day. We protected the Westside and used it as access. We cast the bases first before removing anything else to obtain accurate levels and angles. We staked out the ducts before concreting to ensure their positions. Each successful step allowed the chain of steps to be coordinated. We had great respect for the place of work and the pitch, which was recognised by the club. The club trusted us to get on with the job and the job was successful.
