This project consisted of the renovation of an existing unused store room into welfare facilities and locker room in a power station.
The store was limited in space and the client had a specific number of washing and changing elements they required. We had to clear the existing storeroom, isolate and strip all existing wiring and drop the existing ceiling, before demolishing and reconfiguring the existing walls to fit all the elements into the project.
Adamson Construction designed the new changing facility including 3 WC’s, 3 showers and as many lockers as could fit in the space. The lockers were completed with accompanying benches making it awkward to fit them into the space with optimum capacity, so this had to be considered carefully. The area was fully rewired and had new plumbing throughout to connect the sanitaryware. New Altro safety flooring, a new ceiling and lighting were also installed according to client specification and preference.
The project was carried out in a busy working power station so all the associated health and safety precautions were in place. Adamson are verified to the standards of Achilles UVDB, which is a requirement of this power station and other utilities sites.
