Adamson Construction was contracted to renovate existing non-compliant toilet areas. The existing shower rooms and WC washrooms were non-compliant with the HBN standards required in hospitals. Showers with trays create problems for showering the sick and vulnerable patients.
The project had to be completed in a fully operational hospital so noise restrictions and logistics had to be controlled. We liaised with the client management to arrange working time slots for noisy works in sensitive areas. We erected site partitions to de-mark the area with clear signage displayed. Existing services were isolated and the existing fittings were stripped out. Excavations were then carried out to install underground drains and sunken shower trays and the service feeds were modified.
New Altro safety flooring was installed, capped and coved. Trovex hygienic wall panelling and Trovex hygienic IPS panels with HBN compliant Sanitary ware were then installed. Finally, decorations were carried out throughout as well as lighting and ventilation upgrades This work resulted in very hygienic wet rooms.
