The Project
Adamson Construction was contracted to waterproof the existing flat roof which had been neglected for many years.
The existing roof was of timber and lead construction, and the lead had deteriorated to such a point that the Timber structure had started to rot. The application was amplified by the bad weather.
A survey was carried out on the roof and a decision was made to over-lay a liquid plastic material and use a Belzona product, a 3 coat system was applied. To start, we treated the roof with a Fungicidal Wash (Belzona 9421), next repairing the cracks and welds using Belzona 1291. In addition, we also used Belzona 4141 Magma Build for the up-stands and sharp edges.
Belzona 3921 GSC conditioner was applied as a primer to prepare the surface and finally, two coats of Belzona 3111 flexible Membrane were applied as the protective, weatherproof coating.
