The Project

Adamson Construction carried out the civil engineering for a plant machine refurbishment project. Two identical pieces of plant in a factory were standing on concrete plinths cladded in old damaged tiles and needed stripping and refurbishment. This was done using Flowcrete Mondeco flooring and manufactured stainless steel edging. Adamson Construction also installed a Flowcrete Mondeco flooring for the surrounding area.

The floor around the plinths had drainage where waste from the plant had to run into. The levels of the whole area had to be correct and there were a number of obstacles which were in the way.

Existing drains that went around the perimeter of the old tiled plinths were removed and stainless 4-inch drain pipes and gullies were installed to falls to fit in with existing floor levels. The floors were then screeded to correct levels to meet the existing floors, the new drains and the plinth.

A new stainless manhole cover was also installed and prepared to be in-filled with the flooring finish. The plinths were cladded with stainless steel and then the whole area was finished with Flowcrete Mondeco flooring including the top and middle levels of the plinths and the manhole cover.
