The Project

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, our client appointed us to carry out necessary groundworks and lay foundation slab to facilitate the installation of increased body storage cold rooms.

In order to carry out the works, temporary fencing was erected with gates to secure the area. We then graded and excavated to allow us to compact the sub base and install timber shuttering to the perimeter to form a square foundation ground slab of 420m2. This was re-enforced with A252 mesh throughout. Once complete, C40 Concrete was installed and finished in one day by use of 35m boom concrete pump and crew.

Our next task was to excavate and install a new C40 re-enforced concrete ramp to enable ease of access from the morgue to the body store and installed handrails to the path edges.

An access route through an existing perimeter fence was enabled with a new timber ramp clad with a 3mm Aluminium Checker plate to form a long-lasting non-slip walkway. Finally, the area was secured by fitting a bespoke gate with a digital coded lock.
