The Project
Adamson Construction was proud to be awarded this project at a local school. The project included various works around the school, including complete classroom refurbishment in the Junior section, two new toilet areas, a link corridor through the front of the school, a new glass-fronted reception area, a new car park at the front as well as various other works. With a tight time frame, scattered work, much of which was whilst the school was open, were some of the obstacles to be considered during project planning. To achieve our targets we started in the summer break with many sections at once to reach satisfactory stages so the school could resume in September. The car parking was moved to the rear of the school and we worked from the front.
The classrooms and toilets were completely gutted and replaced in phases to reduce disruption. We still had to move around the school in term time so our operatives had to respect noise limits and move materials with care and act with consideration for the pupils.
We were exemplary in this and had a great rapport with the staff. Our final push was on the car park and there were some who questioned our ability to achieve our target. We were applauded when we did.
