OUR TRAINING

A quality service can only be provided by a sufficiently trained workforce. Adamson Construction invests heavily in training to enable the highest quality possible. On a recent external appraisal of the training at Adamson Construction it was said that we had training second to none in our sector.

HISTORY OF ADAMSON CONSTRUCTION

Adamson Construction was formed in 1989. The company has been located in Slough for the duration of its history and has established many long standing relationships, both on the trading estate and nationally, resulting in an ever growing client base. The wealth of experience gained in this time is considerable and Adamson Construction has established a wide variety of skills and abilities that allow us to undertake most jobs in many markets. Shortly after formation the relationships established led to repeat maintenance work such as flooring, groundwork, concreting, painting & decorating. This soon developed into a much wider range of services which have been maintained until the present day and Adamson Construction now takes on many different projects because of the diversity of abilities and knowledge it possesses. The project management skills that have been developed have enabled the company to combine its resources and capabilities with other specialist sub-contractors, which allow the smooth running of projects. Adamson Construction has grown year by year and now employs a multi-skilled workforce averaging 35 members. The turnover is averaging £3 million which makes the company big enough to handle projects up to £750,000, yet small enough to offer tailor made services which genuinely satisfy every clients’ differing requirements.

1. What type of work does Adamson Construction do?

Adamson Construction provides a full project management construction service for a large range of project types and planned maintenance. We have experience carrying out projects and maintenance in a variety of markets where quality is expected, often working on jobs that other similar contractors can’t do, or don’t want to do. 3. What insurance do you have?

Public Liability Insurance: £10,000,000
Employer’s Liability Insurance: £10,000,000
Professional Indemnity Insurance: £1,000,000

4. What size is the Company?

Adamson Construction employs about 35 people covering administration through to the workforce. The annual turnover is currently approaching £3 million. Jobs and Projects range from £1000 to £1 million.

5. Do you do any work out of standard office hours?

Yes, we often undertake work out of normal office hours and at weekends if our clients require it. We are happy to work with you to find a solution to get your project completed on time.

6. What is your attitude to Health and Safety?

Adamson Construction have a good Health & Safety Culture, which includes ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001. Our policies endeavour to make the company and all of its employees fully committed to understand its business in such a way as to minimise the risk of injury or ill health to people, damage to property or the environment. All construction work is subject to the “Construction Design and Management 2015 Regulations”. All works are assessed for all risks and hazards before any works start, risk assessments and job method statements are produced for all works.

7. Do you have CSCS Cards?

Yes. All employees who will work on site are obliged to have CSCS cards and we ensure they are updated as necessary. All managers are also required to have the CSCS cards.

8. How much do you invest in training your employees?

Training is regularly reviewed to establish the needs of the company, its clients and the environment that it trades in. The nature of the work undertaken usually results in significant investment here so all employees, both management and operatives, receive various relevant external and internal training to ensure they continue to work in a safe way and produce the quality that Adamson Construction demands.

9. Do you have ISO: 9001?

Adamson Construction attained ISO: 9001 in 2014. Quality is a cornerstone of our ethos and culture, so the systems are designed to ensure the standards of quality are maintained at a level our clients expect.

10. Do you use Sub-Contractors?

Yes. To complement our direct labour with the additional expertise required to deliver a contract, we have developed good relationships with many sub-contractors. New sub-contractors are vetted and managed to ensure they achieve the levels of quality that we require.

11. What geographical areas do you work in?

A large proportion of our works are carried out in the Thames valley and London. Our head office is located in Slough which is also the base of operations. However, we will and have undertaken projects UK wide and we take each project on its own merit.
